December Breakfast and Lunch Menus

Winter Gear for Cold Weather

Please remember as the weather gets colder to send your child to school with a coat, gloves/mittens, and a hat.  If you need help getting winter gear for your child, please contact Mrs. Holt at holtsha@spsdme.org or call the main office.

Please write your child’s name in their belongings!  We know how expensive winter coats and boots are and want to make sure we can get lost items back to the correct children!

School absences and tardies

As we get into the winter months and have more colds and illness, here are a few reminders:

  • Please call the main office at (207) 773-7375 if your child is going to be absent.

  • You can also send an email or Reach My Teach message to your child’s teacher, Mrs. Quirk (quirkpa@spsdme.org) or Mrs. Tweedie (tweedihe@spsdme.org

  • Students must stay home if they have a fever and/or vomit.  They may return to school after 24 hours of being vomit and/or fever free without medication.

  • Please make sure that the office has emergency contact information for your child and a plan for them to be picked up in the event they need to be sent home due to illness.

  • Consistent and timely attendance at school is critical to student success!  We want all of our students in school, on time, everyday.  We also need to work together to keep our community healthy.  If you have any questions about your child’s health, please reach out to Nurse Kristie at scribnkr@spsdme.org

  • School starts promptly at 9:05am.  Students are welcomed into the building beginning at 8:45am.  If you are dropping your child off in the morning, please wait until Skillin staff are outside to greet students before letting them exit the vehicle.

School Messenger

Please make sure that you are signed up to receive School Messengers from the school district.  This is the mode of communication Superintendent Matheney uses to notify families of any bus delays or changes and snow days.
