Skillin Newsletter from Principal Connolly (November)

Hello Skillin Families!

We are looking forward to meeting with you for your child’s fall conference! If you have not scheduled a conference yet, please contact your child’s teacher.

Many thanks to our Skillin PTA for organizing our Fall Clean Up day, purchasing and setting up our new GaGa pit on the playground, and raising $5000 through their No Frills Fundraiser to support enrichment activities and field trips for our students! We are so grateful for their support and hard work!

Lunch Bunches with Mrs. Holt, School Counselor

Locker Project Supporting Skillin

We will continue to partner with The Locker Project again this school year. This food program is available for any family who would like to participate. Once a week, we will send a shopping bag filled with non-perishable foods home with your child(ren). We plan to begin sending food home to families this month, November. Please let Mrs. Holt know by phone (773-7375) or email (holtsha@spsdme.org) if you'd like your family to participate in the non-perishables weekly bag.

District’s Boundaries and Configurations Steering Committee and timeline

Superintendent Matheney has shared information in his newsletters about the district’s Boundaries and Configurations Committee that is looking at elementary school attendance zones, configurations of schools, and whether or not any changes should be made. No decisions have been made in this process and all community members are welcome and encouraged to share input with the steering committee and/or attend meetings and community forums. It is important to have voices from all of South Portland’s neighborhoods

  • Please see this document for a timeline of meetings and forums
