Help Wanted: Garden Club & Greening Day Lead

Do you or someone you know have a green thumb? The Skillin Learning Gardens need you!

Started in 2011 by former first grade teacher and master gardener, Anne Cyr, the Learning Gardens were created as a way to help our children become more acquainted with the natural world. Anne has since retired, and the Gardens are in need of another caretaker. You can mold the role as you see fit, the only requirements are a passion for nature, a willingness to help keep up the Learning Gardens, and the ability to assist with the annual Greening Day in the spring.

Email SkillinSchoolPTA@gmail.com if you’re interested or would like to learn more.

Come to the PTA Meeting Next Thursday!

We’d love to see you at our next All Member Meeting on Thursday, March 28 in the Skillin Art Room or virtually on Google Meet. All parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members are welcome to join!

Our agenda:

  • Principals update

  • Raffle Calendar fundraiser update

  • Spring Fling planning

  • Teacher Appreciation Week planning

  • New ideas

Do you have empty milk jugs?

We’re planning our second annual Spring Fling Family Fun Night and we need your empty milk jugs to make our craft a success! Please drop off any clean milk jugs at the front office.

Save the date for the Spring Fling on Friday, April 26th. All Skillin families are invited for an evening at the school. Get ready for some fun on the playground, games, snacks, crafts, a cupcake walk, and more!

4th Grade at the Mariner’s Game!

We were lucky enough to be able to treat our 4th graders to tickets to the Maine Mariner’s game on Friday night. The Mariner’s won and we had a blast!

Did you go to the game? Share your pictures with us on Facebook!

Can you help us stock the Teacher’s Lounge?

We keep our teachers energized and ready for teaching by stocking the Teacher’s Lounge with K cups, cocoa, tea, and snacks. We’ll be restocking every Monday through the end of the year, can you help us gather supplies? Check the list for what’s needed each week and drop off your donation at the front desk.

Don’t have time to shop? Send a donation via Venmo to @skillinschoolpta with the memo “Teacher's Lounge” and we’ll do the shopping for you!
