Weekly Skillin Scoop: Spirit Shop, Giving Tree, and more!

The best way to stay in the know about important dates, calls-to-action, and other information that impacts our Skillin Skyhawks each week. Please take a moment to read this week’s announcements!

The Skillin Spirit Wear Shop is Open!

Things are a little different this year, the Skillin Spirit Wear shop will be open for a limited time with a small (but awesome) selection of items. Don't wait! The shop will close Sunday, November 17th with items being delivered in mid-December.

Let’s give back to our teachers and staff!

When you’re in the school for conferences, Book Fair family night, the PTA Meeting, or Family Game Night, be sure to check out the Giving Tree near the rotunda! Each leaf has a teacher or staff member’s name and an item they need for their classroom. Grab a leaf off the tree, fulfill the request, and send it back into school with your student. Let’s show the staff how much we appreciate them by stocking their classrooms!

Our PTA Meeting is this Thursday!

Join us this Thursday, November 14 from 6:00 to 7:00 in the Skillin Art Room for our November PTA Meeting.

Our PTA Meetings are a great opportunity to hear what's happening in the school and share your ideas and suggestions for future activities, events, and fundraisers. We welcome you to be involved, have a voice, and join the fun!

Agenda topics include:

  • An update about recent activities in the school from Principal Connolly or Assistant Principal Remsen

  • A recap of our No-Frills fundraiser and a look into what’s ahead from PTA President Kate

  • An update on the upcoming Family Game Night event

  • Brainstorming new ideas for a family event in the winter

The Book Fair Family Night is Wednesday

Bring the family to the Book Fair in the library this Wednesday, November 13th, 3:30-7:00pm for family shopping night. Keep in mind, Books usually cost between $10 and $20.

Donate to our Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

We will be providing the teachers with breakfast the morning after Parent Teacher Conferences to refuel them after a long night! Would you be able to help with a donation of fruit, juice, soda, or seltzer?

We appreciate any donations that you're able to provide, drop them off with the front office on Wednesday, November 13.

Don't have time to shop or bake? We'll do the shopping for you! We gladly accept donations via Venmo, find us @SkillinSchool_PTA
