Thanks to everyone who came out on a rainy night for the March PTA All Member Meeting last week! A recap of our lively discussion:

  • Vice Principal Remsen gave an update on what’s been happening in the school

    • Be prepared for another round of PBIS surveys following Parent Teacher Conferences

    • Planning for the 4th Grade Celebration is underway, thanks to the success of the Raffle Calendar fundraiser it’s sure to be a great way to send our 4th graders off on their next adventure

  • Co-Presidents Tasha and Kristen gave an update on recent PTA activities and what’s the come in the Spring

    • A letter has been sent to Superintendent Metheny and the School Board highlighting the importance of and need for swings on the Skillin playground—we’re hopeful this will get our swing installation prioritized

    • There was amazing turnout for our call to stock the teacher’s lounge! Our teachers now have what they need for the remainder of the year

  • Vice-President Katy gave an update on our fundraising efforts

    • Mill Creek Tree Lighting was a great success, thanks to everyone who came out and purchased popcorn and cocoa

    • The Raffle Calendar was an example of great collaboration between all of the elementary PTAs and raised more than enough money for the 4th Grade Celebration

A change in leadership is upon us! Our fearless Co-Presidents Tasha and Kristen and Vice President Katy have reached the end of their terms, plus we’re in need for new leads for a few committees. We’re looking Skillin parents with energy, enthusiasm, and ideas! Even just taking on one thing is hugely impactful. Open positions are…

  • President (opportunity for another set of Co-Presidents)

  • Vice President Learn more(opportunity for two people to be Co-Vice Presidents)

  • Family Fun Nights Lead

  • Playground Committee Lead

  • Garden Club Head
