Come to our First PTA Meeting!
Looking for a way to get involved and make a difference at Skillin? Come to a PTA meeting! Our meetings are a great way to stay informed about what’s happening at Skillin, meet awesome parents, swap ideas, and plan exciting events that make the school a fantastic place for our kids. All parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members are welcome.
We keep things lively with laughter and lots of creative brainstorming. Whether you’re a super planner or just curious, we’d love for you to join us!
Our first meeting of the year is Thursday, September 26 from 6:00 to 7:00 in the Skillin Art Room. Our agenda is:
Update about the school from Principal Connolly
Update about the PTA from PTA President Kate
Discuss our goals for the year and what we want to accomplish
Vote to approve 2024-25 PTA Budget
Talk about open positions
Prep for the No Frills Fundraiser in October
Would you like to take on a special project?
We’re still planning for the year, but there are a few special areas that need help this year:
Ice Cream Social —help plan our ice cream social that takes place alongside open house in the Fall
Family Nights—coordinate planning for our community building fall or spring family fun nights
Playground Project—help create a plan for continued improvements to the playground and outside space
Learning Gardens—help tend to the Learning Gardens
Grant Writing—research and apply for grants to increase funding for the PTA and Skillin
Marketing—help with updating SkillinSchoolPTA.com, making flyers, or sending the weekly Skillin Scoop Email newsletter
If you’re interested or would you like more information, reach out to Kate at SkillinSchoolPTA@gmail.com
Interested in Volunteering this Year?
We’d love to have your help! Please complete our quick Volunteer Interest Form so we can reach out with opportunities. Even just doing one thing is a huge help, many hands make light work.
If you’d like to volunteer during the school day you also need to take 2 additional steps:
Each Year: Submit a Volunteer Application with the school district
One Time: Complete a district led Volunteer Training online or in person
