PTA Monthly Meeting is Wednesday
The last PTA monthly meeting of the year is this Wednesday, May 17at 6:00pm in the Skillin Art Room and online. Join us to discuss events from the past month and align on upcoming activities.
Discussion topics include…
Move-a-thon: Our last & final fundraiser of the year where we put the FUN in fundraising! We are hoping to make this a new tradition at Skillin and would love for you to be a part of it. Money raised from the fundraiser will go directly to improvements on the playground.
Year in review: A recap of what we’ve learned during our rebuilding year and a discussion around what we could do differently next year.
Greening Day is this Thursday
Greening Day is a day when the Skillin community comes together to take care of our school grounds. Each grade level will spend one hour outside to weed, mulch, plant seeds, and paint birdhouses that will be placed in the Learning Gardens.
For the day, your child may want:
Clothes that can get dirty
A hat to protect from the sun
Sunscreen
Gardening gloves (if you have them)
Popcorn Friday is this Friday!
We will be popping in the Skillin Lobby all day and delivering popcorn to every classroom and aftercare. We provide this treat at NO COST to the students thanks to our generous sponsor Nelson Custom Tile
Don’t Forget: Move-a-Thon Pledge Drive
The Skillin School PTA is hosting our first annual Move-a-Thon fundraiser event! The Move-a-Thon is a super fun student participation fundraiser where students run, walk, skip, and dance laps around the playground to raise money for our playground project, Learning Gardens, and playground equipment.
If each student can raise $50, we will meet our fundraising goal!
Here’s how it works:
Students collect pledges or donations. Donors can pledge by flat donation or per lap around the playground completed (expect a student to complete 15 to 30 laps).
If pledging by flat donation - donations are collected online via GiveButter
If pledging by the lap - a paper pledge sheet was sent home in take home folders, use this sheet to track per lap donations and follow up after the event with the final total
Friday, May 26th is the Move-a-Thon at school during recess! Come out to the playground and cheer on our students as they make their laps
All donations are due by Friday, June 2. Immediately after the Move-a-thon students will get their final lap totals and can notify donors of their final donation amounts
